The Omada app is a powerful tool for configuring and managing your Omada devices. With this app, you have the convenience of changing settings, monitoring network status, and managing clients all from your smartphone or tablet.
There are two modes available for managing your EAPs: Standalone Mode and Controller Mode.
- Standalone Mode: This mode is perfect for those who want to manage their EAPs right away without the hassle of configuring a controller. Each EAP can be managed separately, making it ideal for small networks or home networks that only require basic functions.
- Controller Mode: For those managing multiple devices (EAPs, routers, or switches), Controller Mode is the way to go. It works together with either a software Omada Controller or a hardware Cloud Controller. In this mode, you can centrally configure and synchronize wireless settings to all devices in the network. Compared to Standalone Mode, Controller Mode offers more configuration options.
When it comes to managing your network in Controller Mode, you have two options: Local Access and Cloud Access. In Local Access mode, the Omada app can manage the devices when the Controller and your mobile device are in the same subnet. On the other hand, in Cloud Access mode, the app allows you to access the Controller across the internet, enabling you to manage your devices from anywhere.
The Omada app's compatibility list is as follows:
- Controller Mode: Currently supports software Omada Controller v3.0.2 and above and hardware Cloud Controller (OC200 v1).
- Standalone Mode: Currently supports various models with the latest firmware. For a complete list of supported models, you can visit the Omada compatibility list on the TP-Link website.
